Shopping in Agios Dimitrios:
Within walking distance of the Romantica - apartments is a bakery, butcher,
pharmacy, two supermarkets, several snack-bars and an open-air-cinema. The
nearby kiosk provides you with international daily newspapers and magazines.
Always worth a visit are the small, typical greek taverns. Varkiza, the
closest larger village at the coast highway towards Athens, offers a wide
range of cafés, restaurants, shopping and kiosks, as well as a post
office and banks and ATM's. Glyfada is a must for every visitor to Attica
. Here you will find a great mixture of exclusivity, international flair
and mediterranean atmosphere. Marble streets and glass shopping malls invite
you to an extended shopping event – even after sunset. |

Islands: During
summer, every day from 7a.m., ferries and flying dolphins leave
Piraeus to all greek islands. Recommended day trips to Aegina :
- temple of Amphaia – Greeces most important pitachio plantations.
Poros:- small and very green island. Hydra: picturesque and idyllic,
the typical imagination of a greek island.
Nightlife: Along the coast highway from Saronida to Piraeus
you can find countless bars, restaurants, cafés and discotheques for every
occation and taste. Nightlife-fans find the clubbing-mile from Voula to Neon Faliron.
Public transport:
Here, public transport is omnipresent. The Agios Dimitrios bus stop is directly at the
coast highway route from Cape Sounion to Athens. During summer busses run every
30 minutes in both directions, the last leaving Athens 9:30p.m. towards Agios
Dimitrios (take the orange/white busses). Athens City transport is served by
a well organised net of trolleys and busses. Cab drivers generally are sole proprietors.
Rent-a-car and other vehicles: All common car rentals like Sixt, Hertz, Europcar,
etc. are at the airport. Scooters can be rented in Varkiza and Glyfada.
